This may be totally inappropriate for a new topic, but I didn't want to put it in the Powder Room...
Anyway, this is at my local Savers for $30. It will need to be refinished and the back panel is warped and will need to be replaced.

Questions:
Is it in fact mid-century modern? Looks it to me, by the slightly curved shape, the shape of the legs, and the pulls.

Is it worth it, with the necessary repairs?

For $30 it's a steal. It looks late 50's, probably 60s to me. I'm not an expert - but basing on similar I've seen. The top is wood not laminate right? Can you tell whether the piece is solid wood and not just veneer on press-board? Back panel can be cheaply replaced. I always think that refinishing is a labor of love and not really too much in $. In the end you could have a really nice piece.

Pretty sure it is solid wood, hard to tell, but the drawers were nice and heavy. However I did notice that the drawers ran on a plastic piece rather than, I dunno, metal or wood. Does that date it later? Or does that just indicate that piece may have been replaced?
