Another safety related question...what would be best, Simpson Racing Shoes, with FR fleece lining, or leather Test Pilot Boots from Chippewa?

Which would be best for surviving a post crash fire scenario?

Leather boots. I always wore them while flying. We were issued Bellevilles.

The Racing shoes look neat, but how much blunt force trauma will they protect your feet from? A crash just isn't going to be fire.

Yes, I agree. Plus the leather boots have steel safety toes, and steel sole plates. They look good, and really shine, if you are into that.
