Gents,
I would like to present to you a query that has occupied many a thought of mine. What are your opinions on plaid fedoras? A friend of mine wears them quite frequently; here is a picture of one I've borrowed a few times, myself:
I do, however, find that plaid hats can clash with the more vintage 20s/30s style I try to go for, myself. I would also like to propose another hypothesis: can the size of one's nose act as a determinant of the extent to which one can successfully pull off a certain type of fedora? As I mentioned, my friend wears plaid fedoras often, and he has quite a large nose. In fact, it's even become an inside joke among our group of friends - whenever he poses a question, someone rejoins with, "who nose?" I have more of a flat nose, myself, and I wonder if this interferes with my being able to wear plaid fedoras - I think he pulls them off much better than I do.
So does anyone else have any plaid fedora success stories? Or inspiration for incorporating them into a more vintage inspired wardrobe? Or should they be avoided being worn all together? Thanks, gents.
