I'm new here on the forum, so hello to everyone and this is such a great website!!! I've learned so much that I didn't know before and its great how everyone is so helpful :) and all you girls are so pretty!

But for my question.. My hair is getting very long! it's already growing past the middle of my back and I'm growing out my "betty bangs" so there about to my nose now almost.. I can do some basic vintage hair styles you know..like victory rolls and pomps, but now I want to learn how to pin curl and finger wave and everything else!! I'd like to do something like this with my hair

So what do you guys think would be the best way.. is there something a little easier than pin curls to do get the look? it'd be so hard to do with how long my hair is!!! my hair is kinda thick and a little bit wavy..its usually pretty easy to manuver. and it straightens pretty easily. I'd like to do as much as I can by myself.. Is there any pin curl tools that anybody has used?? I saw one on ebay that was a little tiny rod looking thing.. it says it was an authentic pin curl tool made so that girls could do the pin curls by themselves much easily!! someone outbid me in the last like 3 seconds so I was bummed!!! I also saw another ebay listing that said these are great for pin curls, but has anybody ever used them before ??

or is there anything anyone would recommend..like any other rollers or something that get the pin curl look? or just to get the look of the two ladies in the picture above? thanks so much<3<3

Yeah the vermount country store is where I found them too..also lots of other goodies, I've gone through all those threads but I've never seen anything about certain tools or anything you can use besides your fingers!! unless I skipped over something :(

I apologize if I am stepping on anyones toes but here are a few tricks that I learned over at that thread....you could use a dolly pin, a sharpie marker or a cold curling iron. You really just need something very round and on the thiner size you make the curl around it and slid the implement out.

Welcome to the lounge!

Now, please go read the pincurl thread. I promise that everything you need to know has already been covered there! For example, I use a sharpie marker for pincurls and always use end papers. It's been discussed in depth over there.

Also, there's a lot of discussion in that thread about methods of attaining a set similar to pincurls with modern tools such as Hot Sticks.

Those plastic things are called Spoolies,
you can get them much cheaper than off ebay at
www.vermontcountrystore.com

http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/...pe=PRODUCT&path=1,2,4,27&KickerID=3759&KICKER

I tried them but they fell out of my hair, my hair is just above shoulder length.
there is a whole thread on here to do with pincurls !!!!!

has any one ever used the spoolies? if so can you tell me how it turned out and the good and bad about them, they look really cool but i would like to here more from some one that has used them, maybe even a pic. also what length you hair is when you used them. i dont want to spend the money on them if im going to toss them in the trash because they dont work.
