Photographs of the Borsalino that arrived.

RE: This thread.

What do you think it is? I tried looking it up online but couldn't find any Borsalinos called "Garrett." I did find a "Como II" which looked very similar to this once, except instead of "Garrett" on the sweatband it says "Como II" which, I suppose, is a fairly hefty difference. It also says "Imperiale."

When I came home today and saw the size of the cardboard rectangle on my porch, I sincerely hoped it was NOT this hat because it was about the size of a shoebox. Alas, it was, the hat discourteously mangled to fit into the thing. I just spent about 40 minutes steaming the thing and have brought it, at least, to a somewhat respectable shape.

Photographs below. Help me identify it? I do not believe that it is vintage; not because of experience, but because the inside markings are so similar to the Como II. Thanks everyone! Either way, I can't wait for my wife to get home so that I can give it to her. Regardless of what it is, I like it a lot -- I just hope she does!

The proprtions look good, but there's something about that bow that bothers me.

In your obviously vast experience with Borsalinos, can you identify anything about it? Vintage or not? Model name? Etc.?

I'd say it's pretty recent. Last 15, 20 years or so?
I know the old ones. I think Besdor should know more about this one.
