Couldn't think of a better title for this thread, since this is an unorthodox project of mine. I wanted to try some hand made insignia and had this sheepskin leather jacket that a friend gave me. I modified the jacket collar to make it a bitter smaller just to accomodate the insignia. Then I used fabric paint and added the 7th Bomb Wing crest, then pieced together the 9th Bomb Squadron patch from felt.
Right up front, I know this was not an A-2, nor was I going for a wartime jacket. My idea was that this is a reproduction, of a post war, early SAC item, private purchased and modified by the wearer, most an officer, to tie together his wartime service with post war service, and/or wear to reunions in later years. I also modified this to be a companion to a crew cap reproduction I made last year. Just thought I'd post it for your passing interest.
