A 7X of this era is likely 100% beaver if not it's still high quality. Art can reblock it and reflange the brim to make it look just like a stratoliner.

I hope it looks as good as the picture. I did not stumble on it, until just before it ended. I am quite partial to Resistol, as most of my hats are Resistol's with a few Stetson's thrown in. I feel like I got quite a bargin with the current frenzy on eBay.

I like Resistols!

I can second that one, h4m!

I have only 2 Resistols, and they are up there with the best. My blonde Beaver Twenty (Kitten Finish) is probably the softest surfaced hat I own (though not the softest in pliability) and looks great with any color togs!

The other is a brown "The Utican", custom for a shop in Utica, NY (captain obvious!), with a cool two-tone lining of peach and burgundy!

From what I understand, Resistol made their last fedoras at least 25 years ago - maybe longer, so I guess any Self-Conforming fedora designed by Harry Rolnick qualifies as vintage.

You got a screaming deal there, H4M. Let us know when it arrives, and maybe post some pics. (I'd post some of my own, but I've yet to figure out how to do it. It's easier to teach a chimpanzee sign language than it is to get me up to speed with this digital stuff.)

h4m, I wish you the best. It's getting a lot tougher to snag a bargain on eBay nowadays. IMHO, as long as it doesn't have moth holes or any noticeable nasties beyond light normal wear and care, almost any vintage fur felt lid with a >2 1/4" brim is going to be a good buy at less than 50 bucks.

Enjoy!
