I finally installed a DVD burner in my computer last night, and watched The Maltese Falcon to test it.
Anyone ever notice just how prevalent permanent matches are in this movie, and how much use they get? At one point, Peter Lorre's character drops the match on the carpet in shock, and that's the last you see of it...no stomping it out, no fire, nothing...
I'd like to find one just to sit on my dresser or radio, but an Ebay search brings up the pocket types....I'm wondering if tabletop permanent matches are the sort of thing that were tossed long ago in favor of something more modern, and now if you can find them, they cost a small fortune.
