I only knew this because Rich Conaty mentioned it on his wonderful show, The Big Broadcast (www.wfuv.org, Sunday nights at 8 Eastern Time) last Sunday. He played her very first recording, a solo rendition of "There's a Lull in My Life", from 1937 when she was just 19. Exquisite.
