Ladies, my mother wants to know where she can buy some pants. She wears a size 18 (more or less), is kind of an apple shape, and about 5'-1". Her complaint about pants is that they are usually too long and to baggy. It is hard for her to shop because she has arthritis. Any pants suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't know my grandma's size, but she's about that height and is an apple shape as well. I know she gets a lot of her pants at Talbot's because they have a big Petite's section. Maybe she should check that place out? They have lots of good basics.

Hey, I was just over there shopping (and buying pants for myself)! But I didn't know then that my mom needed pants. I'll go again tonight.

The problem she may have is petites run smaller than regular misses. And they usually only go up to a 14. I can wear a 10-12 in regular misses, but usually have to go up to a 12-14 if I get petites. And I am 5' so I definitely need the petite! She may just need to get the regular misses, and then have them tailored. Also, sometimes in the summer I can get cropped pants, but on me they are the perfect length! JCPenney has a great petite dept- their St Johns Bay pants fit real well. Also, I noticed Dillards is starting to carry Women's Petites in their Dress Department. They may have pants in these sizes too. Talbots has Women's Petite, but their pants are pretty pricey, $78-118.

I'll look at some cropped pants--they may be just right on her.

One complaint my mom has is that on many pants, the crotch comes down to her knees. But Talbots might fit her better. I'll also suggest that she look at the Sears and Penney catalogs.
