Hi folks, yesterday someone mentioned the name of old-time actor Sydney Greenstreet, and that's all it took to remind me that back in the 90s I bought a bunch of OTR on cassette, among which is some Nero Wolfe.
After digging them out I spent a pleasant evening revisiting these old gems. They were all enjoyable but one episode stood out - The Case of the Careworn Cuff. What makes it so enjoyable is its' sense of ease and utter liquidity. It just flows. That to me is one mark of good writing. The acting is excellent too, particularly Lamont Johnston as Archie.
So if you're looking for a 'sampler' of this show, here you go. Other episodes are good too but tend to be drier and have a less engaging actor playing Archie. Therefore Careworn Cuff is the one to try first.
Update, I just found that someone put it up on YT. I don't know how to embed so here's the link - enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7bMvNDi94o
