Outback Trading CO or Kakadu

Hi, need some help making a decision. I purchased an Outback Trading Company full length oilskin coat. The misses likes it so much that she wants one. I was thinking of getting a Kakadu coat (Iron Bark Trench) as they seem to be be better made. As I live in Sweden, we don't have any stores that sell them, so I can't see for myself.

Does anyone have any experience with Kakadu, especially the Iron Bark Trench coat? Can anyone make any comparisons between the quality of Kakadu and Outback Trading Co? Lastly, any experience with the fleece liners that you can out in these coats?

Anything would be appreciated.

Thanx!

I've seen Kakadu's "1903 gunner coat", seemingly modeled on motorbike dispatch rider's coat of indeterminate date. The "gunner" is a thin, ill-fitting garment indeed. Little wonder it's no longer to be found on their website. Maybe the rest of their stuff is good.

I hear mixed, mostly bad news about those products. Certainly they are not used in Australia (depsite the name Outback) and are never seen here. We would only ever use Drizabone products for oil skins. I have 2 coats (not the ususal duster type which looks a bit naff in the city) but a short Brumby and a longer Ranger model. 12 ounce drill cotton - very strong and waterproof.

Over here you hardly never see Filsen or the others - but they are meant to be great too.
