"ORIGINAL" Maltese Falcon prop

I so wanted to post this while it was live, but that's a no-no, so I'm posting it now. What do you think? Is it "original" or is it a replica.

The odds I'm giving are 54:1 that it is a fake and/or replica. I'll recalculate those odds if anyone can tell me that there are orignal props left floating around.

My husband knew a guy who worked on the set and he gave this to my husband years ago.

Lines like that make me assume it is fake. Nothing worse than a bad write up..

Finding originals used in the film is becoming as hard as it was for Bogart to find the real one in the movie.

Some guy ended up paying a little more than $200.00 for that thing. He could have had the same thing for $99 from Haunted Studios, they are continually selling them on Ebay.

Nope.....not of the dingus in the Bogart movie.

That one and the many ones like it are from a bird sculpted at Warner Bros. for gifts for their executives to promote a 70's spoof called The Black Bird. Take a look at the Falcon page on The Golden Era for more details.
