OPEN ROAD?

I always wondered if Brad Pitt's hat in "A River Runs Through It" was a beat up Open Road.

Has there been a previous discussion on this particular hat?

Indeed, if you're looking for a great hat flick to rent, this is one of the best. Any number of vintage fedora styles and colors.

It doesn't look like the edge is bound in that shot. I have a thin ribbon Stetson 25, that looks alot like an OR w/o a bound edge. I doubt anybody would cut off the bound edge but you never can tell what silly Hollywood costume designers will do...

Difficult to tell but it also looks as if whatever it was had a wider ribbon/band/leather on it, if the marks left behind are where it was stitched... [huh]

I wouldn't buy something looking like that on Ebay anyway... lol

My wife just turned on and old movie, Bonnie and Clyde. Clyde is wearing what otherwise looks like a straw open road style hat, but with a very wide black hatband. I had honestly never thought of that but it looks good, good enough I may take a couple of mine, a felt and a straw and have wide bands put on.

I believe this is just a common panama not an Open Road.

Cannot tell from the picture you posted, but in the movie it appears to have a cattleman's crease, hince my association to the open road..
