One button

Found an old suit the other day, single breasted single button, looked 30's going by the very old label and some other clues, great fabric, and fit well, but just a bit too beat up for serious wear unfortunately, never seen one button like this before...any clues?

Some very early '50s suits have one button. Often they also have peaked lapels, and sometimes the buttons are cloth-covered. These suits are almost always made of flannel or rayon.

I was recently looking at a new jacket at Macy's like that. Single button with peaked lapels, black pin stripe. If it had been navy blue I might have got it. I think it was about $160.

it may well have been a really heavy rayon, it was interesting fabric, if the pants hadn't been beat up i would definitely have got it..black BTW
