Old Town don't do long-fitting jackets

Didn't they used to make 1930s suits?

Not sure about the past. But they currently produce separate jackets and trousers, with waistcoats, etc., that can be mixed and matched and worn as suits. As for style/era, I suppose their theme is early 1900s to 1940s.

Very nice looking clothes. They look good close up, too. A friend has one of their jackets (not sure which one) in grey wool.

It's off to a tailor for me. Adding another 250GBP at least to the Old Town cost, even for a reasonably priced separate jacket.

Yep- they only do what they do, unfortunately.

The high-rise trousers shouldn't be avoided though.

I have a pair and they're good.

They look very good. I'm considering a pair in blue serge.

I've obtained some good casual high-risers from the nice lady, Kathryn (not sure of the spelling), at the Vintage Shirt Co. in Lewes: a pair in blue moleskin and one in heavy dark brown corduroy. These are not on her website and are going to regular customers and those who ask.

I think I'm going to see George Dyer, the threadneedleman, about a casual jacket.

Inspired by your adventure-related kit, I've been hatching a plan to get a half-belt back linen jacket. But the detailing may push me over my already busted budget...

Although Old Town don't make long-fitting jackets, they fit me fine

This thread is redundant.

I visited Old Town last week and tried on a couple of jackets. They fit. Also, their sizing means I'm take a 40' waist OT trouser rather than 42, as measured by my own honest hand.

Very nice people.

This revelation is going to cost me a packet...
