Old McDonald Deerskin MC Jacket

McDonald Leathers Spokane Washington. I've seen other Deerskin MC jackets, but nothing quite like this. Unlike most custom made Deer jacket this one is very heavy, very thick leather. The lining is thick also. I think it is in the 6 pound range. Has the makers label and and owners name in one of the inner pockets. Coats and Clarks main zipper and Talon sleeve zippers. I see both these zippers on 50s jackets. Nice Diamond chest zipper. I believe it has a 42 size tag which seems correct. Very snug at the waist, but opens up through the upper chest. Very nice taper on the arm sleevs. The Deer, even this heavy, is very comfortable to move in. I thought the wind flap was aftermarket, but looks original.

Yes, it really is a nice piece of work. Lot of good leather out of the Pacific Northwest. I was surprised by the weight when I picked up the box. This one has been on the road. Built for riding. I ran a search on the net, but nothing came up. I always hope someone will recognize a label or name. this jacket could be 50s.

Nice looking jacket from what I saw. The deerskin is a amazingly beautiful hide. I'd love to see more custom jacket makers offering it.
