This is an old clock that has been in the family since the Roosevelt administration. It didn't work, so years ago I took it apart, and lo and behold, the electric motor was missing! So I forgot about it. Just left it as a display piece. It's pretty.
So today in the midst of other stuff I decided to check the plate on the back. It's a model 4F06. So I Googled that and found out that the F stands for the motor, which was a Telechron model F. I Googled that and found a lot more interesting stuff. Along the way I found an identical clock on Ebay. They were asking $15. But when I started looking for the motor, woohoo! There's a guy who will restore your Telechron F rotor for a mere $200.
So, anyone got any leads on a working Telechron F rotor? This model clock was only made from 1932 to 1937, when the H rotor came into use.
I would like to fix it for sentimental reasons. Or is that sentimantel reasons?

That's an awfully nice looking clock! Do you know how it sounds when it works? I wrote a post someplace about how I yearn for old clock dings instead of polymorphic nonsense.

I don't think it dings or anything, just hummmms. But it never had a motor since I've had it, so I don't know. It got me started on an interesting Google quest, tho. There is a world of antique clocks out there that I never knew about before! Now I have to add a working 30's vintage Deco clock to my decor.
