Oily Complection

I'm considering buying a David Morgan but I'm concerned about the oil from my skin being absorbed into the hat. The hat I have now, is not lined and the top of the hat, as well as the brim where it touched my head, is badly stained. This hat is not lined and I realize a DM is, so I'm not too worried about the top, but what about the brim? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

The hat doesn't have a sweat band, or does it have a cloth sweat?

What I'd do is have a leather sweat band installed if the hat doesn't have one.

Since you live in New Hampshire, I'd have it done at Salmagundi in Boston. They've been putting this very nice leather sweat in my refurbs and I can't see staining passing through it.
