It does say a great deal. I've also always wondered why companies' home sites have more limited quantities of their products than their distributors. Looking at Stetson's site, I think I could store their entire inventory in my garage.

Some companies don't show all their models on their home sites either. I've seen models & colours of hats popping up from various outlets that wern't mentioned on the 'manufacturer's' sites. I suspect that some models are made under licence by other manufacturers & only available in limited outlets or even exclusive to a specific country.
These home websites are developed & managed by external sources anyway & so it depends on the brand's attitude towards both it's products & customer satifaction & feedback whether or not the websites (both thier own & the various suppliers selling their products) are routinely checked & updated.
Looks like Stetson couldn't care less as usual. I suppose if a brand has enough pigeons to buy it's products to keep it afloat, it can afford to run a shoddy outfit, that's the advantage of flying under a renowned 'name' even if it has nothing to do with the original of yesteryear.

There is one thing questionable for a lawsuit about this: Is buffalo "fur" considered to be fur or wool?
