Snagged this yesterday; James Dean Stetson
... no not his Stetson, but a "commemorative" (morbid, eh?) issued on the occasion of the 30th anniversary (1985) of his driving that Spyder into forever...
As you can see the seller had it mislisted in men's outerwear for some reason, you can also see that I asked for a measure of the brim width & he answered me that the brim was 4 inches. Well, I just wanted some other eyes to take a gander at these photos & confirm for me that there is NO WAY that this is 4 inches... right? To my eye it is 3" at the most, more like 2 3/4"... but I've been wrong before.
Even so, for $25 I thought that I couldn't go to far wrong in a 21 yr. old 4x, even though he is raking me over the coals w/ $20 for shipping:rage: (watta crock!).
It looks somewhat Open Road-esque, I am not wild about the leather band, may look to replace it w/ a 1.5" grosgrain in a light gray.(any suggestions?) But all in all not a bad score, I look fwd. to seeing the quality of the felt, it looks less cowboy & more sportsman's fedora, maybe more Akubra-like. I could live with that.
