A great story about the complicated recovery efforts. A staggering number of men from The War are still unaccounted for. Especially interesting here is the phenomenon of generational grieving. Two generations later, the families still suffer, still wonder, still want their relatives to come home.

Great article and what a blunder, but that was 1946/7 folks were wanting to get home and would imagine numb from the reality of death...

Fascinating yet tragic article.

This sort of thing always reminds me of the shockingly large numbers of Allied personnel still missing from the Korean War and what became of them.
