Not Sure What I Got- Gray Brooks Brothers

Just hit the buy-it-now on THIS.

I've been resisting gray hats lately. I have a couple I love, and it's enough, already. But, the buy-it-now was pretty cheap on this one, and it looked nice. Not sure how "vintage" it is. I'm also curious about the brim. Looks like it might snap. I'll come back with a full report when it arrives!

My faith is restored. Just when I think that everyone is on to the demand for hats and there are no more great bargains on eBay, you nailed one. If that had been a regular auction, you'd have paid $100+. Great score and it looks like a great hat.

Ande...I have one very similar, its a Brooks Brothers made by Locke. Very nice hat, and I also got it with BIN for like 25 bucks...the amazing thing is that it was relisted on ebay several times before I bought it, for some reason no takers but it was a steal. I've been getting some great bargains on ebay recently...

That reminds me of the Herbert Johnson Brooks Brothers I got! Same seller, too. I love my Akubras and a Stratoliner is on its way, but the two Brooks Brothers hats I have... there's just something special about them. I've handled vintage Borsalinos, Barbisios, Dobbs, Knox, Stetson, Dunlap, Resistol, Adam, Crofut & Knapp... but nothing touches Brooks Brothers for me. It's just that they're pretty hard to find, especially in our size. I love the hat you won. Congratulations!

Don't feel too bad! I understand the disappointment, but finding a gem like this -- a large size coupled with a fantastic price -- requires an almost militant and consistent scouring of eBay using extremely thorough and well-constructed search queries... or extreme luck! Soon enough, you'll be making a post with a link to a find of yours that makes the rest of us bigheads squirm with envy.
