If you've never heard of Nettleton before, it's because they're no longer around--the factory closed in 1984. But if you've never heard of them, it's a shame, because in their day they made some of the finest shoes of any of the great American companies. They were at least equivalent to Florsheim Royal Imperials, and probably superior to modern Aldens and Allen-Edmonds.
These color #8 (burgundy) shell cordovan longwings are a gorgeous example of what Nettleton produced in their heyday. You won't find many like this. They're in perfect NOS condition, with no evidence they've ever been tried on. The shell is in great condition; doesn't appear to be dried out at all. The full leather heels have the classic steel plug, akin to Florsheim's V-Cleat, to prolong the life of the heels.
Size is 8D.
Assuming my long-delayed order of Venetian Cream comes in in the next few days, which it should, I will include a bottle for free.
$450 shipped in the CONUS. That's $100 cheaper than AE shells and $150 less than Aldens. Actual shipping charges will apply outside the US. PM me if you have questions. Now $425!
