The article refers to "the new stingy-brim style that has recently inflected Biltmore's line." I don't suppose anyone cares to comment?

Shouldn't that word be "infected?"lol lol lol

Looks good to me. Stingy brim or not I have no issues with the hats being popularized again. Increased sales means increased profits increased profits means more money and more money usually means expanded product lines. If that means changing the style a bit, so be it. I will be looking forward to seeing the results.
Johnny.

Contempt for Stinge

Ah, once again, I feel slighted as a partisan of the stingy brim. We are an underappreciated minority: the untouchable class of hat society. I think this has something to do with postmodern fedora culture deriving mostly from the Indy subcult.

Time to assert our rights! I am going to open a bold new thread: if the Open Road can have its Guild, then why should not we outsiders form the League of the Rat Pack Brim?

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to be so offensive! He did ask for a comment, however. I know some guys like them, but I will probably go to my grave detesting the stingy-brimmed, short, tapered crown hats. To me, they represent the downfall of modern civilization, or at the very least, the downfall of hats.

Now if, as Johnny and Aaron stated, the stingy brims are at the forefront in a prolonged resurgence of hat-wearing, and they do precipitate the comeback of ALL brim widths and crown heights, then I will give credit where credit is due.

Until then...

Brad

Tapers, no

Ah, I can agree regarding the tapered hat. I tend to prefer a stingy brim with a high, full crown.

Ha! No, but the hat in your avatar would seem to fit the description.

(Oh, and I have started a new thread to deal with this *pressing* matter.)

And do join the thread. Already we're under assault.

You can be my Underboss.

I have no problem with the short brims... just the short crowns tha go with them nowadays.

The more hats the merrier... especially if they are fur felt.

Abe Lincoln was a great president, but I draw the line on wearing his hat. I'll never wear an Indy-esque fedora again. :kick:
