Welcome, Blad. Pictures are always helpful.

Working on getting pictures (trying to find the darn charger to my camera).

I was hoping the info I gave would suffice considering my "camera dilemma".

Will eventually find the charger and post some pics.

Till then

You might direct your query to Stetson (888) 234-5450

Tried that.

The folks over at Stetson informed me they could not help me with information I gave them.

When I asked to speak to a "Hat Expert", the person I spoke with kinda chuckled!

After searching a bit online, I came pretty close after I saw what I believe to be a very small picture of the hat on google images but the website from which the picture came from was not functioning.

Then I found this site and I am sure someone here can point me in the right direction.

Thanks zetwal

As a matter of fact that is the same picture that I was finding on google images...but this is where the link took me:

http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...page=1&ndsp=36&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=47&ty=34

However, the horse on the ribbon is silver and mine is black.

Furthermore, could this hat be the same as mine? Is it the same style number?

Has this hat depreciated? The price tag on my hat states $345 and their hat is between $65-$125.

Thanks for your help.

There are a variety of levels of quality of hat. You can have hats that are of the same dimensions and design using different materials to produce hats of different prices. Note that your hat lists 30X which indicates a certain level of fur felt quality. The more the X's the higher the quality. 30X I think is pretty high quality.

If you can't find one just like it you could send it to one of the several custom hat makers we have as friends of the Fedora Lounge to see if they can make a recreation.

Finally!

took me a while to get these photos so I hope the photos come out decent.

Again, if you have any questions on these photos, please refer to the original information at the beginning of the thread.

It's a beautiful hat, and I think you should call Stetson.
Does the tag have a store name?

Thanks

I do not believe so about the tag.

The only thing on the tag is "J.W. Cooper"

I know that is a store but not sure if they still sell hats.

After a little more research I think what you have is a hat that was solely made for a high end mens store called J. W. Cooper.
The name of the hat-Paso Fino-refers to a breed of Spanish horse that is used in horse shows. They have their own divisions, and
seem to be kind of pricey. I would think that the Cooper company ordered the hat as a nod to this group of equestrians.
This would also explain the style of the hat. The American Paso Fino is a mix of breeds from Puerto Rico and Columbia.
It is a 30X so it is a fine quality hat. Might be able to sell it on ebay if you are so desired.

I am not interested in selling this hat.

I am interested in finding another one just like it.

Has this hat been discontinued?

Is this hat more expensive now?

A 30x El Patron hat from sheplers is $520. Doubtful you can get another stetson in that size and style today. If you want that style and quality your best bet is to have one custom made.

Thanks for all the help and information.

Now, how do I take care of this hat: is it recommended to block it, stretch it, etc. What do I clean it with?

Thanks
