Hello everyone!
I am Cepice ("cap" in some Slavic languages) and have always had a great love of hats. I own a small but rather quirky range from berets to a wool porkpie, a couple of interesting Russian hats and, most recently, a Stetson Stetsonian.

The Stetsonian is a real eye-opener for me. I always wondered how celebrities got so much personality in their hats and brims. Now I see; open-brim, high-quality felt and hand bashing. It feels so good to shape a hat to your mood! The bashing threads have been incredibly helpful, thank you!

Anyway, I'm not much of a poster, and will likely not show photos of myself, but I'm an avid reader, and I thank you all.

Well, at least let us see photos of your hats! What color Stetsonian did you buy?

And welcome to the Lounge!

Finally got my first hat today.
A Dunlap Supreme, New York Cashmere Finish, Frederick & Nelson Nutmeg Light Tobacco Brown. The is size 6-7/8 according to Esty seller, but the tag says 6 3/4. No Bigge, the tag was 1831825309180849867.jpg

For most folks size is not a big issue as they can usually find a hat in their size.
However, My head is extremely small, hat-wise, so finding any hat that fits me is next to impossible. So I grabbed this one when I saw the size.
I haven't been finding a lot on Dunlop hats online.
Sorry, I made a mess of this post, trying to figure out how to add the pictures.

Welcome aboard! A lot of good information here, and really nice people. You have a good start and I think you will find the world is your oyster in that size, as far as vintage hats go. The larger sizes are much harder to find.

Welcome to the forum! If you haven't found the thread yet checkout the Dunlap Drive-In & post your hat there as well

I have a Dunlap Supreme 4X that is very soft & will take just about any crease I want dry.

I have purchased a number of 6 7/8 sized hats for my wife. Don't be hesitant to bargain hard. In those small sizes if you are patient you can score some great hats at super prices. (don't worry my wife has instructed me to NOT buy her any more hats so I am out of the game in your size!)

I was just happy to find ANY hat small enough for me.
Every hat I find in any store is too big for me.
I've been reduced to wearing baseball type caps because I can't find a real hat that fits me.
Even with the cap, I've tried to find something that's not like what everyone else is wearing.
While I'll still wear the cap type for everyday work at home etc, when I go out the Dunlap come out..

There are a lot of us who will be envious of your “problem” of having a small hat size. Hope you enjoy our quirky company and continue sharing your hats with us.

Greetings, everyone. New member, currently residing in Stuttgart, Germany. Enjoy all kinds of hats, but have a fondness for fedoras, yes, partly because of Indiana Jones, but also because of the mobsters/gangsters, and early James Bond movies. I will be posting a question about a Mallory by Stetson I bought in 1990 right before shipping off to Parris Island, but this is when i can get on a computer that will let me post the pictures.

Welcome PB! Looking forward to seeing your lids. You will find a wealth of information around here, and great folks with very similar interests. I think there are a couple of former Jar Heads that will chime in about Parris Island as well.:)

Welcome! This is a great forum and I hope you enjoy it here.

Since you asked, there are existing threads for Ask a Question get an Answer and a new to the hats forum thread. It’s appreciated if you use existing threads rather than starting new ones, but really there is no harm.

Personally, I found the Lounge to be easier to access by using the Tapatalk app.

It’s also appreciated if you have a question if you do your due diligence by researching old posts and threads before asking others for the answer. This isn’t required, but it’s appropriated.

Accept that you’ll make a few missteps, but don’t worry about it. No one is going to bite your head off. I hope you can share your hats with us too.

Welcome and as Brent stated there’s a lot of information here in the Fedora Lounge. As you search older posts looking for answers you’ll probably notice that a lot of old picture links no longer work so I usually start at the newest post and work backwards through the pages. I hope this helps you navigate a little easier.
