New hat?

I went in to my local hat store the other day and they had this hat just in from Dobbs. I really like the color and quality, but I am having a reservation on the band. It is made of felt and the same color as the hat. What do you all think, Keep the band or change it out for a taller black band?

If you don't like it, change it. It's your hat. You don't need our permission.

If it were my hat, I'd change it. I don't like narrow bands, but that's just my opinion. Oh, and the feather would be gone, too.

But nicloas is right. It's your hat. Do what you want with it. BTW, it's a great color. Should be very versatile.

I like the narrow ribbon/band on some hats. Variety is the spice, after all. I think they look pretty good on the Open Road and other fedoras of that genre.

My local hatmaker (western hats keep him in business) makes a beautiful narrow hatband out of the same felt used to make the hat. It is very popular with the numerous western hat wearers in this part of Texas.

I think that is a good looking hat, but I would lose the feathers, too!
