Hi all, I found this forum whilst googling how to paint a leather jacket and found that amazing thread. I haven’t attempted it yet because I am either lazy or afraid to ruin a jacket.
About me, I am a 24 year old collector of WWII memorabilia. I focus on the US 7th Armored Division (my g-grandfather’s Division, WIA in the Netherlands) and named and attributed USMC items. I also collect anything “cool” and with a story.
Anyways, here is one of my centerpieces in my collection. I found this locally at an auction house and ended up being the highest bidder. The jacket is not in the best condition. It hanged in the vets basement since the war near a water heater. Luckily the artwork was mostly spared.
I paid a decent amount of money to get it mounted and preserved. 99% UV protectant acrylic, all acid free material.
I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. (Jake was the name of the pilot, hence “Jake’s Boys”).
