I’ve been quite tempted to buy one of their jackets lately. I really like the look of the Ventura and I would spec it with a dress collar, no chest pocket, with side laces. Kind of like the Lost Worlds or Aero CHP.

With the infatuation I have with vintage CLs I really should have a new one built.

How does the new leather compare to the various older hides? Particularly when it comes to thickness, weight and feel. If it’s anything like the older stuff deal me in.

I will get a few pictures up of a recent CAL LAPD.

It’s cowhide and super thick. Heavy. Other than the change in hide. same jacket as Gwen is still using the original pattern.

Here is a pic of a modern LAPD from Cal. This thing is a cowhide beast in both thickness and leather. Same pattern from original and everything is there including the fur cuff wind stoppers, fur collar and belt. Even has the leather side cinches.
