Well, I got my two new eBay hats in the mail today! I'm afraid i'm getting ready for work as I post, so, this will be quick, but I'll embellish later.

Now the pics!
Here is the first one. Inside it's marked with the brand "Barsoni" and on the hat band it says "Ellis Clothiers, New York and Chicago".

I was planning on swapping out the hat band, but, that one is sewn on. But regardless, the hat doesn't fit. It's too small even for my 6 7/8 hat size. I should have known when the seller said she didn't know the size. Oh well, the main reason I got it is because it's real beaver fur, and I wanted to have one. It's a good display hat.

Now here's the real gem.

A Stetson Sovereign homburg. I REALLY love this hat. It looks great and it's very sharp. I'll be cutting my way through town like a razor blade in this thing. It's just a little big, but, then again, I just got my hair cut way too short, so, I'll grow into it. :) Here are a couple pics of me modeling it. :)

I particularly like this one.. I doctored it up to look vintage. I plan to inherit this gorgeous roll top desk one day by the way.

Enjoy your hats ! I'd date them to be mid 1950's so the quality is good . Not the garbage of todays manufacturers .:cool2:

Looks great

The hats look great. One teeny little change on the picture - since I use a fountain pen a lot, the thing that I noticed was the pen's a little modern looking and I think when most in the Golden Era sat down (dare I say - sit down) to write a letter, it's not using a pad - a sheet or two of nice writing paper.

But overall, great look!

You look good in narrow brims. That homburg is very sharp. It needs a big overcoat with a dramatic silhouette.

The first hat is interesting. It has an intriguing ribbon.

Well done. Enjoy.

Unfortunately the Barsoni is too small to be presentable on my head, it looks like one of those tiny clown hats kind of.

In that pic i'm actually using an old mechanical pencil, but yes, a fountain pen would have been better, I need one! I just took the pic quickly on a whim, then edited it to look old on a similar whim. When I get some time i'll put together a nice outfit and set up the desk better and do a proper pic, and maybe a few more with some of the other old family vintage stuff around the house.

I'm surprised no one's said anything about the clock on my mantle next to Nero in the other pic..
