Hi everyone, I am new to this big family, but I've been reading posts for quite sometime. Since here are lot of expertise of leather jacket, I would like to ask for some advices on sizing.
I've been looking for a freewheelers mulholland jacket for long time. I usually wear a 36, but the measurements on mulholland seem a little to long on the sleeves and too boxy on the body so I am hesitate to full the trigger. Recently, I saw a mulholland in 34 and I was very tempted to buy it. So I measured my other leather jackets to compare with it. But oddly I found that the measurements on my jacket are really different but both fit me similarly with just differences in style, not that much of differences in terms of size, one just little boxer than the other.
Which i start questioning myself about this size34 mulholland. Don't understand why....
For reference, I am perfect fitted on a 36 RMC 30's copper sports jacket, with room to wear a t-shirt or a light weight flannel. In a 36 Rainbow Country Hercules I have more room to layer a heavy flannel, even though it has a little more space but really not that big of differences.
So, for anyone who had handle the mulholland jacket with different sizes, is there any recommendations? Should I go for 34 or a 36s which I am pretty sure the sleeves are going to be too long for me. Thank you and I apologize for my English, by the way I am from Hong Kong. Thanks

Here are both jacket I'd mention

I had the Mulholland in both a size 34 and a size 36. The 34 was a little too small and the 36 was a little too big. I’m 5’4” and weigh around 140lbs. In hindsight I probably should have kept the 36 but I sold it to @Jin431 who’s a bit bigger than me and it fits him perfectly.

I’m a 36 in McCoys jackets, and since you say the Cooper size 36 fits you perfectly, you also may be in between sizes.

How tall are you and how much do you weigh?

The Mulholland is a bit boxy. If the taper of the Cooper fits you well, you likely will not fit well into the Mulholland.

Take it from me as someone who owned both the Cooper and 3 Mulhollands in the past. When I was heavy and more barrel shaped, rhe Mulholland fit me perfectly. When I became more V shaped, the Cooper fit well and the Mulholland did not.

You're better off with other Freewheelers models like the La Brea or San Mateo or even the Caboose if you want something from Freewheelers.

Keep in mind this is coming from a massive Freewheelers fan so if I'm telling you the Mulholland probably won't work, I mean it.

Some photos to demonstrate.

Me at roughly 195-200 pounds and a size 42 Mulholland fits well, albeit a bit long in the body and definitely too long in the sleeves.

Me at around 165 pounds and a size 40 Mulholland is too boxy, but a 38 would be too tight in the chest and shoulders

And also at 165 pounds around the same time in a very well fitting Cooper in size 38.

The Cooper had more chest room, but tapers more than the Mulholland.

IMO the Cooper fits me much better. In general I'd say if you fit very well into the Cooper, you won't fit as well into a Mulholland and vice-versa. If you really want a Mulholland, I'd say definitely size 36. 34 will probably be too small in the upper body.

Thank you so much for all these details and informations, also spend time to share your experiences. I guess I would wait till I have a chance to try on one to help make the decision. I like the Caboose too but I never seen one on the market, maybe is even a little harder to find compare to mulholland ?!

It fit you pretty well in my opinion, but will the shoulder be too tight when moving you hands?
It looked good as a t-shirt only fit, but it wasn’t comfortable. I’m a bit bigger than you so a 34 may work.

They’re definitely rarer than the Mulholland. I had a Caboose in a 34 and a 36 as well. The Caboose fits a bit smaller than the Muholland. I’m definitely a 36 in the Caboose and you may be as well.
