Neat video of the LAFD in the 1930s

Okay so I'm a firefighter by trade, and I came across this video today and thought it was really cool, its a training video of the Los Angeles Fire Department shot in the 1930s, shows alot of cool things associated with the fire service at that time, as well as a lot of shots of the streets and neighborhoods around LA (some cool shots of old firehouses) definitely worth a look.

Love the trucks...but I'm not sure about the '30's dating. Some of those cars in the middle of the film look like they're from the late '40s or early '50s.

BTW: Thanks for your service! I'm a deputy here in Wisconsin and couldn't imagine doing what you guys do. I'm sure that during the summer all the over clothes and gear is too heavy and during the winter, it's not heavy/warm enough.

Great film! I like the footage of the men putting their coats on while hanging from a moving truck, safety first. Oh how I wanted to be a Tillerman when I was little, they looked like they were King Of The World!

Love the trucks...but I'm not sure about the '30's dating.

Yeah, looks post war but enjoyable nonetheless.

Awesome video! The newest car I could sport and positively ID was a 48 Buick, although an LAPD patrol car looked to be a '49 Chevy, but I'm not 100% on that one.

Edit: Spotted a '49 Chevrolet @ 9:36

The LAPD car looks like a '49 or '50 Ford. The LAPD at that time had Fords.

I have to admit that I was laughing quite a bit through this video, but I loved every minute of it. Thank you so much for posting this!
