Mycustomtailor.com - Options?

Hey gang.

I've been checking through the archives and at both mytailor.com and mycustomtailor.com, and I haven't really gotten an answer on this, so maybe one of you gents can be of some help.

Options on most suits at these two sites include standard things like working buttons on the sleeves, split backs, etc.
What I'm wondering is if structural changes can be made.
Here's an example of what I mean.
There's a Three piece suit in the Men's Classic at mycustomtailor.com. #7930. It is;
Three button jacket with high gorge, side splits, notch lapel.
Vest is standard five-button, two pocket.
Pants are double Pleat.

Now, If I wanted a lapel on the offered vest and peaked lapels on the jacket instead of notched, would these folks be able to offer those kinds of adjustments?
Will I need to call or email for availability and pricing?

They'll generally make modifications. I don't know about pricing. It's best to email them.

Best of all, rather than to rely upon their design offerings, get a specific picuture of what you want done and email that to them.

The comparison

Just got my first suit from Mytailor on Friday. This is a charcoal flannel that I don't believe is offered on the website. Either that or I paid too much. I think what I got is Super 120 and on the site they offer 100. I recall that at the fitting they had swatches for the 100s but I remember not liking any of the colors. Anyway, the suit is stunning. I had Joe Hemrajani nearly copy the suit I wore to the fitting - a 4button DB. He thought I was mad for asking for oversize butttons (overcoat buttons) but he put them on for me. The only problem with the suit is that the lower right button isn't on level - it's about an 1/8" off and I'll have to have it moved. Can't see how they missed that over there. Sorry about the dark photo. It's the best pic I could get and my patience was running thin.

And here's one of my suits from mycustom tailor. This is of course the one I had trouble with. Around the trouser buttons there are still stains but the suit is wearable.

There's a huge difference in quality between the two tailors. MCT will give you a nice suit for not a lot of money. With all the extras - Full Canvas, Hand Ticking, etc. The $205 suit comes out to about $325. The problem with MCT is that communciation is difficult. Several times I had to get up at 3 am to call Bangkok to see if they received my returned suits (needed numerous alterations) and to get them to make the suit you want, even when it's on the site, is difficult enough, so I don't think I'd try to get them to mix and match.

If MT comes to your area, (check their schedule for dates) you can talk directly with Joe, and the one time I had to send a shirt back, I sent it to California so I didn't have to deal with customs and insurance. I have to say, Joe DID give me the suit I wanted, I just can't afford too many of them. As I wrote in the other thread, MCT is sending me a free suit because of all the expenses I incurred, and if this one fits without needing alteration, I may pick up a few more from them.

I'm glad to hear that the situation was rectified with MCT, its nice to know that their CS department is on the up and up. :p

Anyway you look at it, their products are far superior to off the rack suits that you could buy at S&K or The Men's Wearhouse for the same price range.

Zach, from my seat in the peanut gallery I have to agree. I just can't see buying off the rack ever again, even if these sites require more attention and communication. You still get what you want, not what this year's fashion outlook says you will want.

I agree. Senator, I looked into your button stain issue in the archives. I am glad there has been some resolution.
