I finally got a couple of little Airplane pins for my Stratoliners. Now they truly fit the name.

JP, the one in my Avatar is my Dobbs 2 Ouncer, it is very similar, (obviously) except it is much lighter and floppier and while it looks gray it is a very very light sage, or at least I think that's what you call it. It also has a wind string and but no edge binding. I also have an airplane pin for it as well. Here's a close up pic. You can compare the color to the Stratoliner, if anyone else knows what color this is please let me know as I've had trouble defining it.

THEFEDORALOUNGE:"What a wonderful world."

Hey guys,
you really are hat lovers!!
I have never meet people loving hat like you...every time is ,for me,a surprise...
how many gift you got for your hats....how many love and passion...
and how many i like to see it!
I'd just said this:" what a wonderful place" and "what a wonderful friends on thefedoralounge".
Thanks.

Riccardo.

Oh, that's right! You told me that before Fed. I keep forgetting. :p
The Dobbs can probably best be described as a green gray. I like those hats because you can wear them with many different colors. The hat will blend with both green and gray clothing. You have to look really close to make out the color diffference. A very versatile color---to me anyway. ;)

Regards to all,

J

Now I know why they are called "Stratoliners" the price's on them are in the Stratosphere, the sage colored one is now at $265. It still doesn't beat the $531. that one went for a while back though.

Gray Stratoliner

I was just watching a hat I bid on early in the auction on E*ay. It was described as mint and had the original box. It sold for $130.00+ :cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

It was part of a collection of airline memorabilia,........the seller thought it was another type if airplane.

I added it to a few other aircraft pins I have. (Convair B-32 Dominator, Pan Am Martin China Clipper, two DC-3's and a Stratoliner, Piasecki Helicopter Co. And a vintage American Helicopter society pin)

Any one have a picture of an original Stetson pin?
