My quick visit to Union Garage in Bridgeport

I wanted to check out the Vanson collab V7 jacket. Based on the sizing, I had a feeling the 38 would fit best and I was told a few weeks ago the oxblood was only available in 40 and 46 and the 38 in black was OOS. Anyways got there 4/12, the black was on display and they had a 36 (waaaaay too tight, p2p 18.5, couldn't even zip up) and the 40 was boxy. The oxblood in 40 and 46 are available but they are not on the website and they were not on display. You had to ask for them so I am not sure how they were going to plan to sell them.
TBH, if they had it in 38, I *might" have gotten the 38. The leather and looks were awesome. Thick and shiny, the way I like them
The 40 in oxblood I tried definitely looked like the definition of a demo or floor model so I am not sure if the price is still $950. I didn't ask b/c it was definitely too boxy for me. Loved the armor too! Too bad no 38! Gonna try on a lot of leather jackets when we go to Japan this August!

The Oxblood color was a limited run of a super-saturated Octagon leather that turned out darker than expected. The tannery that provided the Oxblood doesn't exist anymore, I think it burned down in 2017. And I thought that Union Garage had sold them all long ago.

I have a black V7 jacket in size 42, and it's a really well designed jacket, and I like it quite a bit. The D3 armor makes it a favorite for actual riding. The fit is very similar to my Vanson Model B jackets, so if I'm on not planning to ride I tend to reach for those if I'm looking for a no-collar Vanson for the day. I really wish that I'd sprung for a V7 in Oxblood because I knew it was my only chance to own one, but I'm very satisfied with having the one in black. I hope you pulled the trigger on the 40. It looks like it fits you.

Hi Guppy, it might look ok in the pics but the 40 is boxy, even my wife says so, especially in the arms. I like a slimmer fit. not meant to be , its ok. might find something super exciting in Japan.
