That it is really hard to read white text on a black background. Doesn anyone else feel strange after reading long posts on here?

I find my eyes take a few minutes to adjust back to normal after the high contrast of white on black text.

anyone find this hard on the eyes or am i just getting old? :)

actually, I really like it, the words pop out more...maybe you need glasses..seriously, if you're eyes are weak, a computer screen can put a lot of strain on them

This may be a case of individual differences - but I find the high contrast of white text on black background extremely easy to read.

Light text on a dark background is pretty easy for me to read. In fact, whenever I'm reading dark on light, it is easier for me if I highlight the text with my mouse. Personal preference, I'm sure.

Funny, for me it's exactly the same!

Behind the 8 ball,..
Maybe the font and /or color should be differant by default?

With the thought of viewability in mind, I often use this,....... Franklin Gothic Medium, size 3, in silver, as it does not appear as glaring against the black background. Also the letters are plain and spaced a bit farther apart than some of the other fonts.
Is this a little easier on the eyes? [huh]
I sometimes also use this teal color, as I know from my studies of the science of color, that green is supposed to be easy on the eyes and has a calming effect. :) Some of the colors available here are really hard to look at though.

White on black is much easier on my eyes.

I stare at a computer for most of the day at work. Almost everything is black on white. Frankly, the large areas of white make my eyes tired. It's the glare or something. The dark background here is nice. It's sort of like kicking back in a comfortable bar.;)
