After placing my initial order in December and innumerable false starts my jacket arrived in mid August. I couldn't zip it up no matter how hard I tried, but now I can. So here is some (tight) fit pics for anyone interested in what they are all about. Steve told me I can stretch the jacket for a little more shoulder room if I soak it and then wear it for a day until it dries. Is that a good idea?

Don't soak it, it may improve things, but I might as well just ruin the leather, or make it shrink. Just wear the shit out of it, sleep in it, move around in it. It'll do the job.

I dunno. You've put a lot of money in this, though, and it ought to be right from the start. I don't know how many times I've liked something that didn't really fit, and I'd say, "It'll stretch," or, "I'll lose weight," or, "The sleeves will shorten with creasing," and in truth, none of that ever happened. Eventually the item would be given away, sold, or become a closet queen. Can you return it? I know you waited a long time, but how much better if you put it on for the first time and said, "Oh. Yeah, Baby."

How thick is the leather? It's a good-looking jacket.

It'll stretch and soften up with wear and getting rained on. I almost sent my horsehide Highwayman back numerous times because I thought it was too tight across the shoulders, it just needed to be worn a lot before it became comfortable.

I don't want to chance ruining it with the water treatment so I'm just going to live in it this fall. My girlfriend said it looks good on me and if I don't zip it she can't really tell its too small. I could send it back but honestly there's nothing wrong with it that my losing 50 or so pounds won't fix. I sent Steve my ma-1 for measuring, it fits like a glove, so I'm not sure how my a-2 is so small. I can feel him it would fit when I slim down more but its tight enough in the shoulders and across the back it will always have to be worn with the thinist of t-shirts, no layering at all. So I guess we will see if ends up on eBay in a year or so.
But, its a damn nice jacket. I took it to the tailor to have that conmar slider and bullion patch put on and he offered to buy it if it didn't fit lol. My girl has been wearing it around the house. She loves it. I'm still happy with it despite it being small.

It's thin, probably 2 oz. The leather is comparable to my old aero a-2. The pictures don't do it justice really.
