My Hats

It seems to be customary to post pic of our hats so here are some pics of my two good hats.

This one is the Borsalino. The flash washes out the color some. I really prefer the unfinished edge on the brim, and the felt is nice and dense. It's not stiff at all, but it's not squishy. And it's so soft you could brush it with a baby's butt.

And this one is the Brent Black panama. I don't care for the pic, but I was in a hurry last night. It spent a couple of months upside down in a really humid room so it seems to sag a little.

I lived in Sicily for three years. My Borsalino I bought in Taormina. One day I hope to move back and live the Sicilian lifestyle again.

Three years ago I paid $300 for my panama. According to his website the same hat would cost $550 today. I love my hat, but I'm not sure I could make myself pay $550 for it even if I could afford that. One day I'll have an extra $300 to buy a hat from Panamabob and compare to my Brent Black.

I live in Siracusa. 5o km south away from Catania.
Have you never visit it?
I've a friend, a civil, in Sigonella. His name is Ernesto. A big guy with red hair and berb (barba is correct?) .He work in the store ( if i remember well) he is from Siracusa. Have you never meet him?

I went to Siracusa at least a couple of times to see the museum and ruins. If I saw a pictures of your friend maybe I would know him.

Unfortunately that will have to wait awhile. If/When that happens I will post my observations here.

I can tell by the photos that a $300.00 hat from us, via the lounge, will be much finer. There are people that will vouch, but perhaps in PMs.
