I contacted Carrie at Thurston Bros about having a jacket made back in late February. I decided on the Aero deluxe halfbelt. I liked the back design and the pocket design being pretty unique. They sent me a fit jacket and many leather samples. All were great, but I decided to choose brown chromexcel horsehide. After a series of emails the deal was done on March 12th. My jacket arrived May 4th.

My only other high end jacket as of now is a Lost Worlds Ryder half belt which I purchased new a year ago. The Aero is a beautiful jacket and has a shiny finish. It's also easier to wear being lighter weight than the LW. I absolutely love the rich brown color. Enjoy the pictures. I'll try to get fit pictures later when someone is available to assist. I can assure you the fit is great.

Beautiful coat - the color is so luxurious! I almost like this color more than my LHB in Cordovan. Maybe it's time to get another LHB (or even HBD) in this color. Is this the brown or russet color or are they the same. Regardless, a very striking coat that is sure to stand out wherever it is seen! Oh yeah, the lining is very sporty! Me Likey!

I'm a big fan of that design and I reckon you're going to thoroughly enjoy wearing your new jacket as much as you can. I agree the colour of the leather looks sumptuously rich!

Beautiful design and stunning color. That's the most intoxicating brown CXL I've ever laid eyes on! Congrats and enjoy!

Nice jacket. That was my very first Aero - from Aero for me.
Sadly, it never fit me right and still sits on the closet - looks good though!
Yours is likewise lovely. Hope the fit is good for you - any pics?

That's always been a favorite design for me, and yours looks great on you. Wait'll you see what happens as it starts to break in. The brown HH can't be beat.

Quite. Don't mistake Stewart for Campbell in the wrong part of Scotland!! ;)
Like the feud between the Hatfields of West Virginia vs. the McCoys of Kentucky? As I recall the basis of the feud was over a land dispute.

Heh, well..... it was a bit more involved than that, but essentially, yes. The Young Pretender, Bonnie Prince Charlie (a French-speaking Italian, rather than the Highlander some like to imagine!) was seeking to take back the English & Scottish crowns for the Stewarts (from the Hanoverian dynasty that had supplanted it) by means of the Jacobite rising of 1745. His campaign ended in a bitter and very bloody defeat (with the vicious Highland Clearances to follow) at Culloden Moor. Although in reality a battle between those who sought the throne for their own end and cared little for the Scots or Scotland, popular imagining has inevitably given it a different, tribal spin in the intervening centuries. The Campbells fought for the Hanoverians - far from alone in Scotland for doing so, but in some popular legend they have laergely borne the brunt of ther blame for this. Blackwatch Tartan originates with the Campbells Royal Stewart the Stewarts (though tartan and Highland dress as we know it today is largely an Anglo-Scottish invention from the time in which Queen Victoria - not a Stewart herself, though she adopted the Royal Stewart tartan - saw the ban on the kilt and other things banned post-Culloden lifted, and rather took to all things Scottish herself).
