I found my father's G-1 from his flying days. He was a Navy pilot and flew the P-3 Orion. He flew in the 60's to mid 70's. Patrol Squadron 47 (VP-47). The jacket is from when he was a "LT". I will take some pictures but the label says:

JACKET, FLYING, MAN"S
INTERMEDIATE, TYPE G-1
SPEC. ML-J-7823C(WEP)
FSN 8415-268-7802
RALPH EDWARDS SPTSWEAR, NC.
CONTRACT NO. DSA-1-4342-64-C
SIZE 46

Can you tell much about the jacket from just the label?

Thanks,
H

If you haven't already found out about this site you might find it interesting.

I crewed on Orions in the late sixties, but didn't manage to keep my G-1 when I got out. Bought another one later.
