A few years back my honey bought me some fans on a trip. The kind ladies used to have a whole language in use of flirting with.
Anyway, I decided yesterday to check out some writing on the back of one. I thought it was maybe like French words for love or something. I was so wrong. When I looked online the words turned out to be an advertisement for a dance nightclub back in the 1930s in London. It was called Chez Taglioni on Gerrard Street, London. The words were Chez Taglioni and Londres. Many bands played there including black bands. Has anyone ever heard of this place and is it maybe still there? Not likely but just wondering. Also is Londres the word French, Italian or what?
I love history. This is what keeps me going. Can you imagine a nightclub in the 1930s with ladies sitting around fanning themselves. I am envisioning Casablanca. For the ladies here is the language of fans. Maybe you can flirt with honey for Valentines Day. Something free and nice.
