I haven't heard of them either but that doesn't mean anything. I have two hats with the pleated bow like that. One is a borsalino and the other is a Stetson Royal Deluxe. It looks like great vintage find. You wear it well.

I have a Knox Tom and Jerry hat with the same type of ribbon design.

There were so many regional hatters around in the golden era. It is hard to keep track of all of them. I have seen Citation hats before but never really looked at them closely to see what their tags looked like and such. Looks like a nice hat to me and that is good enough. ;)
There was a time that there were more hatters around than you can ever imagine now. Each decent sized town had a hatter to fix hats and make customs for those that wanted them. There were even hat/shoe repair shops together. That is a far cry from now. You have to be lucky to live near a hatter. :kick:

I was wearing this today around the banking district, whilst meeting my wife for lunch in town. What an amazing buzz! Nobody wears hats anymore. It feels so cooool. I mean, a hat like that will make you feel like a meeeeeeeyan dollars! I'd highly recommend it.

Great observation and even better advice! I was in Chicago this past week and was wearing a Dobbs Panama while strolling down Michigan Avenue. With the exception of a few basball caps, no hats to be seen anywhere! Despite 100 degree heat, I was walkin' tall!

How's the recent lot acquisition going?!

Ah yes. The new lot. Half of it came in today at lunch. It was the cheaper half though. :p They are all very interesting in their own way. All boxes are marked with an old label that states what is inside. Two of them have addresses from the Willshire, Washington D.C.. This means that they were part of his ensemble when he was a Senator. The Imperial Stetson was obtained directly from their headquarters but it is not personalized other than his initials in the sweatband. I did not look too closely at the other homburgs and the beaver tophat. I knew the tophat would never fit because I need a 7 5/8 in stiff hats for sure. The rest are good to go. ;) Maybe I can get some pictures when all of them get here.

Regards to all,

J

Remember, JP, if you ever decide to get rid of any of your hats... :p

Hahahhahaha! :p The only one I would consider getting rid of so far is that moth eaten beaver top hat. The darned thing is too small and the sweatband has seen better days. It is still a Senator's hat though. ;) Looks like he got a lot of use out of it. :kick:
