My 1st Portis...

It came today. It's a size too big, but I just couldn't pass it up, so I took a chance and picked it up, hoping I can pad the sweatband w/felt.

Well, I just got done giving it a good cleaning, steaming, a quickie bash and padded the sweat, then tried it on for size.

Whatcha think?

forgive my dusty desk, I don't use that end of it too often...can ya tell?

The sweatband looks a bit wrinkled because I have it padded with felt, it's a 7 1/8, I'm a 7.

It also says on the sweat that it's a water repellent cushion band....never heard of that before. It's stamped right in the leather.

It has a 5" crown with a 2 1/2" brim. The ribbon is 1 1/2" with a wind trolley. Overall, I think I did pretty well for $22 shipped. I'm happy with it.....and I always wanted a Portis to add to my collection.

MKL, the ribbon is a kind of Plum color, hard to describe really.
