this sort of ebay auction is really starting to annoy me:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-30S...pt=Vintage_Men_s_Clothing&hash=item2324f30cb5

ok, you've found a pair of trashed workwear trousers with a potentially 'rare' label and would like $1000 for them.
congrats for jumping on the workwear bandwagon.
no prizes.

here's another idea: start the bidding at 99c and let's see what the trousers are actually worth.
if they're really worth $1000 they'll go that high.

Of course I do. So much of the vintage category on eBay is turning into a "museum"- the same super high priced buy-it-nows which never sell and never get reduced.

Well, to all those who think they're easy to find, I would say good luck finding some of these.

But yes, they're overpriced for what they are. I thought MY prices were over-the-top!! I don't know if you've noticed, Hezza, but the London market stalls now offer nice condition examples of French workwear for approximately 3/4 the price of identical but trashed French workwear (I bought a pair of perfect cords for £40 … the trashed ones, more patch than fabric, were £100), and around double what they sell for in similar French markets and Friperies.

What's driving this is the next season's fashion trend for the worn-out look, mainstream fashion essentially taking on the past year's trend in vintage, and the continuing interest in the vintage stuff.
