Miller Hats - Houston Texas

RBH

I was in Houston Friday and had a little time before I had to return home.
Hurricane Ike really did a number on that part of Texas but I thought with all the power still being out in parts of Houston I did not think about Miller Hats being affected.
I got there and alas they were closed because of no power. [at least the other business around them were also closed so that is what I think]

Boy I could have really had some fun there, and I really wanted to meet the fine folk that helped with my last hat from them.

I wished I had gotten in the picture.... but I looked and I did! And I was wearing my LBJ milan with the RBH crease!!!

Rusty...those are great pics...to bad you didn't get to go in and take shots of the inside...I'd love to see threads that show more of the hat sellers places...I was hoping D00r would get some shots of Bencraft and post those.
Great job Russ!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

When I first visited their shop in 1980 they only sold custom fitted cowboy hats, nothing off the rack.

Even though I lived in a suburb to the North of Houston, and saw the Miller Hats sign several times whilst entering downtown, I've only been to their shop once (this summer, actually).

The place is brimming with hats. There are counters with stacks of panamas and wool hats. The felts are mostly behind glass in displays (which are behind the counter). As if that weren't enough, the entire front wall has hats hanging from it.

Even though I didn't buy anything that day, I was pleased with the experience of the visit. It's a shame that they were closed, though.
