I was making some prospects for my next Aero jacket and found that the Midnight Blue HH option is available.
Anyone here had a jacket made in this specific shade of blue?
If so please share the experience, how it ages, the way it behaves when exposed to a certain light.

That is a question for @ton312 !
He had a 30s HB made of the stuff. Beautiful Greenish/blue in direct sunlight. Otherwise looked black.
Were I to order an Aero, it would be this color FQHH or Blackened Brown Vicenza.

Edgar,
My Aero Teamster was made with midnight blue FQHH. Here is a shot of it:

As Ton 312 and others have mentioned it is a very hard leather to photograph or even describe with any real clarity. In most lights it appears to be a dull steely black color. Most of my friends looked surprised when I told them that it was really a very dark blue, they had seen it as a black jacket.
I was very taken with this color when I received the sample but as sometimes (often) happens the jacket and I haven't really clicked. It is beautifully made and I do wear it on cold days when I want to layer underneath, but it isn't the favorite I thought it would be.
The Aero I ordered after this Teamster was a Bootlegger in Cordovan FQHH. This is a color that I just can't say enough good things about! I would highly recommend the Cordovan if you do not already have a jacket in this color.
I hope this has been helpful Edgar. I don't want to kill your enthusiasm for the midnight blue but I think there are more dynamic options available in FQHH.

Oh man. The CXL midnight is such a cool leather. And indeed it is green. And Black. And Blue. Even a bit gray too. At least the batch mine was cut from. It is intoxicating to look at and almost impossible to photo as @El Marro mentioned. I absolutely want another jacket in it. The 30's HB just wasn't my cut but I think I over spec'd the length...
@Leither has a beautiful j-106 done up in the hide.
There's something about that hide. It has a very chameleon like character, like Cordovan. I think any jacket in Aero's range would be killer in it.

Already knew the Vicenza Navy and I also think it is a beautifull leather. In fact I've enquired Christine at Aero about a BR or 60's Trucker jacket in that colour with cream contrast stitching a while ago.

My doubt now goes for which style I should go for.
I want a mora "classical" style leather jacket, so style like the Highwayman, Original Hercules, Zip Sleeve Highwayman, HB, Sunburst are the way to go.

I'll probably have both.
It's actually quite a bit removed from black. It doesn't show well in the photos tho. It was very difficult to capture the true hue with a camera. The minute I saw it I knew it wasn't black but it sure does tend to photo that way. In fact I took the sample to work and asked my coworkers what color it was. Nobody said black but I did hear dark gray, slate blue and steel blue. Meanwhile I'm trying to convince them it's actually green.

I'm quite sure the shoemaker Clarks used this same hide for some boots they made and I saw them in loco. So if it's the same hide it's a very dark steel blue that in a certain light shows some evergreenish hues.
Being that hide I'm even more sold.

I think it would look great as a cafe racer, but I would do a Sheene or Seven. Something simple with a moto-vibe and zip sleeves.

I took a couple photos of my Horween navy Teamster alongside a black Shinki cafe racer for comparison:

I have to thank Edgar Laurel for starting this thread. I had not really looked at my Teamster or thought about it much for a while now. When I saw this thread yesterday I pulled it out of the pile and I have to say it has been like reconnecting with an old friend again!
