I won this a big vintage lot, as well as the vests I just posted on the vest thread. According to the measurements it's in great shape and my size (fingers crossed).
I hope to be able to pull it off as street clothes once it comes. A bit out there, but we'll see.

Any idea if there's a name for this other than Medical shirt, like I called it in the tread title?

I guess I just need some dark round sunglasses, a big scary needle, and an evil laugh to complete the look:p

That shirt made me instantly think of the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors...lol. Wear it in good health Diner! ;)

Close. Splatter a bit of blood on it, get some old-style soldering goggles and hire yourself a short assistant preferably named Igor. Then, get to work.lol

Orin Scrivello...DDS.

That's exactly who I thought of - the only difference being that his was short-sleeved:

Well, in the movie, anyhow. (A flawed movie. With the wrong ending. But that's another moan...). Plenty of stage productions where they have him in long sleeves. The latest London production was a return to the short sleeved look:

Here's a long-sleever in Parkside Players' (seems to be a US AmDram Soc) take on the show:

It'd be a great fun costume for Halloween - it's also a great one that stands out from the norm for a Doctors and Nurses costume party too. :)

It's shipped, so it should be here by monday or so.
Here's the other stuff in the lot that should fit. There's some that the measurements are all wrong for me, and some that aren't described as being in all that great shape, but here's the good stuff.

All you need is a ball and chain and you could use the striped shirt for a Sing Sing costume, too bad it didn't come with matching pants. lol

Unusual shirt. I'd have said late 80s, maybe early 90s mainstream clubwear? Love the dressing gown. Great colour!

It came today.
I'll post pictures of it all once I get it de-wrinkled.
The doctor's/ dentist's shirt is great. Fits like it should, is in perfect shape, and as the icing on the cake, has a beautiful pleated, belted back.

The red and gray shirt looks to be '50s or early '60s by the tag.

Much earlier than I'd have expected for the shirt. Interesting! I can see it working as an alternative to a bowling shirt for something of a greaser look.

Like the sound of the medical shirt, looking forward to the photos. Definitely a great one for a period mad scientist- type Halloween costume. I think that's what I'm gonig to shoot for next year - something very much period in look. :)

Dinerman, that shirt looks a lot better in your shot - looked like some sort of metallic thing in the first shot (hence my guess at it being 80s or early 90s). Actually looks really good in your photo, definitely couyld be substituted in place of a bowling shirt, as I suggested above.
