Measuring a Suit Jacket for Sale on Ebay

I'm selling my first suit on ebay. What is the correct way to take the measurement's of the suit jacket? Thanks!

p.s. I'm particularly stumped on how to do the chest measurement.

Best way to do the chest is to button the jacket and lie it on a table. Spread the arms out to the sides. Make sure it's totally flat and stretch it out a bit when measuring. Measure across the widest part from armpit to armpit and multiply by 2.

You also should measure across the shoulders from seam to seam. Measure the sleeves starting from the tip of the shoulder, and the overall length (collar to bottom).

VERY IMPORTANT:

Matt, on your auction's webpage, be sure to state that these are FLAT measurements.

Also, remember that a suit's size is often two or three less than the chest measurement. In other words, a size 42 suit jacket may measure 44 or 45 inches across the chest (measured flat).
