Dear All
I've been trying to find a maker/makers of period work pants and riding pants/jodphurs, inspired from the 1900's to the 1940's. I usually wear raw denim, but I've also been inspired by work pants of the era, but have no idea were to look. I've got a few pairs of vintage fire mans pants I found in a thrift store, made from very heavy woven wool fabric, which are lovely to wear. Yesterday I came across a japanese blog called Warp-and-Woof, which have some beautiful tailored pants and equally gorgeous fabrics. Unfortunately its Japanese and I've no idea whats been

There's a series of photos with a gent wearing a grizzly jacket and neat plaid pants. Very nice. Then i realised that most people wore fitted pants with their leather jackets, rather than denim. So i got to thinking.
It's a bit hard to describe the style of pant i'm looking for, and perhaps someone on the lounge will have much more knowledge about this style of pant than me, but here goes:
A jean style pant ( slim fitting, well tailored, not bulky or ballooning top-block ), made from the highest quality period style repro fabrics, rather than contemporary off the bolt fabric, with detailing that often featured back-cinch or side-cinch, or button down front, like sailor pants. I've seen lots of photos recently from the 1920's of soldiers wearing some amazing coats, motorcycle riding pants and leather jackets.
If there's anyone out on the lounge right now or later in the evening, who knows more about this, has had experience with these sorts of pants, or knows were to go to,please I'd love to know what you know.
